Stella Saris

Past Graduate
Analyst – Diversified and Industrials, Institutional Banking, Institutional

Stella ANZ GraduateI started working as an Analyst in the Diversified Industrials sector, Relationship Building, Institutional.

After my first role, I moved into the Project & Structured Finance team, as I wanted to gain specialised product Knowledge and work on more structured transactions. In that role, I worked in the Infrastructure and Public & Private Partnerships (PPP) team in Melbourne.

I worked on a number of high-profile infrastructure deals during my time in this role. Apart from the successes, there was a lot of hard work required on deals that we didn't win, including roadtolls, rail, and defence. In this role I developed my financial modelling and due diligence skills, and gained insight into how these transactions were structured and documented.

In early 2007, I was seconded to join the Structured Debt team in London - focusing on the Infrastructure related transactions.

I was then given the opportunity to work a Senior Manager in Structured Debt based in London, working throughout Europe, America and the Middle East.

In 2009 I moved to Singapore to join the Project Finance team in Asia. This was at a time where ANZ's strategy to become a super regional bank had been set and since my arrival the bank has made large investments and expanded across Asia. In Singapore, I'm involved in project financings in the power, oil and gas and infrastructure sectors across South East Asia. This role has provided exposure to emerging markets such as Indonesia and Vietnam.

During this time I was offered the chance to complete a four month secondment as the Retail Head of L&D.
