Calling all Commerce Students

Apply for KPMG’s CASE WRITING COMPETITION!

Ace the Case is a unique 2-day workshop designed and delivered by KPMG that gives you an opportunity to improve your case-writing and analysis capabilities as well as your presentation skills. Both are great assets that can be applied to achieve success in your academic and professional experiences ahead and help you with case study competitions. This is your chance to learn from the best and for KPMG to share with you some of our valuable skills and resources.

The workshop is targeted primarily towards second and third year commerce students with a long-term interest in pursuing a CA or Consulting designation. In addition to building your case-writing skills, Ace the Case will allow you to:

- Meet and network with participants from

various disciplines and universities as well as KPMG professionals

- Get a "taste" of what to expect in the near future, if becoming a CA or Consultant is the route for you

- Learn valuable skills to use in your future as a student and business professional. 

Below is a rough outline of the agenda for the 2-day workshop:  

Day One 

The first day of the session covers primarily case-writing skills, including thebasic approach, outlining, ranking of issues, quantitative analysis, and many others. You will also focus on the presentation aspect of case properly presenting your results as a group.  

Day Two

Day Two is competition day! You and your group will tackle a case head on and

prepare to present your solution to a set of KPMG judges in the hopes of

winning the KPMG Ace the Case Trophy for your region.

Ace the Case across New Zealand

Ace the Case will be taking place in cities across New Zealand on the followingdates: 

Auckland: Sep 10th and 11th

Wellington: Sep 17th and 18th

Dunedin: Oct 8th and 9th

Students from all universities across New Zealand are encouraged to apply.  KPMG will select students for each event and select teams from the pool of successful candidates.
