Who are we?
At Staples Rodway Taranaki we're all about people. We work with an extensive range of corporate, not for profit and personal clients. And just like the diverse range of towns that make up our province, all of our clients are very different - a bit like us - we're ‘not so ordinary' chartered accountants.
While our core business is providing accounting services, we've always been much more than that. Unlike some accountants, we offer a whole business package - providing Accounting, Human Resources, Tax, Assurance and IT 
expertise to all areas of the business, ultimately adding much more value. We're all about knowledge, and sharing that knowledge to help our clients grow and develop a way of life that's valuable to their business. That's what we're really about.
Our offices in New Plymouth and Stratford are led by a group nine very diverse Directors, and backed by a team of 80-odd professionals - all of them experts in their field... the cream of the crop!

Why Staples Rodway
Staples is not a "Big 4" firm and we are proud of that. We're big enough to offer graduates all the opportunities they need whilst allowing them to have experience within a variety of disciplines.
Staples Rodway is a firm that's targeting the middle-market, so although we're big we can still maintain that level of personal interaction with our clients and all the staff, which is a big selling point for graduates.

Meet Some of Our Team
Abby Death
Background
Joining the Staples Rodway team in 2010, Abby, originally from South Taranaki, grew up on a dairy farm before heading off to boarding school for her secondary education. It was there that Abby was encouraged to pursue accounting and decided that Palmerston North was the place to do this. She attained a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Accountancy and Finance and a Graduate Diploma of Business Studies endorsed in Taxation Consultancy. During her summer holidays Abby approached Staples Rodway for an internship and after three summers Abby was offered a full-time graduate position in the Audit division.
Where to from here?
Her short term goal is to attain her C.A qualification enabling her to travel abroad and work in different countries. Although Abby is currently working in Audit she would like to get involved in Business Advisory Services. Abby would also like to use her knowledge of Finance and Taxation in the future.
Personal Interests
Abby is a keen sportsperson particularly enjoying netball, basketball and tennis. Although Abby hasn't played competitive tennis since going to university she can be found supporting the Manaia Soffe Cup team, of which her family are heavily involved in. Abby enjoys being outdoors in the weekends and loves having the Foreshore Walkway in her backyard, since moving to New Plymouth. Abby loves travelling, music festivals and shopping.
Ashleigh Sole
Background
Born and bred in Taranaki, Ashleigh returned in 2010 to join Staples Rodway, after achieving her degree in Accounting and Commercial Law with a Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting. Seeing herself as a small-town type of girl she always wanted to come back to Taranaki to work. In Ashleigh's first summer at university she approached Staples Rodway for a position as a student intern to gain some experience, and Ashleigh was very grateful when Staples took her on. Working every uni summer here at Staples she was offered a full-time position once she had her degree.
Where to from here?
Without much experience as yet, Ashleigh is unsure of where her path will take her in the future as far as accounting specialisations go. Firstly she wants to target her CA, which, with the help from Staples Rodway, she's sure is a very achievable goal.
With their support she hopes to gain experience in many areas and hopefully find something she is really good at and can specialise in. Ashleigh enjoys working with people and helping them make business decisions and she's sure as her year's progress she will gain more expert knowledge and find her niche.
Personal Interests
Outside of work Ashleigh loves to be outdoors. Whether it's climbing the mountain or playing a friendly game of touch she is always up for a challenge. Ashleigh's also a big supporter of the drifting circuit with her brother being one of the top drivers. She has also just acquired a passion for snowboarding so always gets excited when she starts to see snow on the mountain. Other than sports and trying to keep active Ashleigh is always planning her next getaway as she loves to travel. Ashleigh can't wait to see the world and experience other cultures and backgrounds.

Culture
- Staff at Staples Rodway Taranaki work hard but they play hard too! It's not always about the ‘bottom line'. We have social teams in soccer, squash and indoor netball which provides a great social forum for staff to interact and have some fun...
- Our social club organise various events throughout the year, from a day at the races to our end of year BBQ, and all the raffles and quizzes in-between!
